Veterans Treatment Court
The Mobile County Veterans Treatment Court is a voluntarily, court-supervised program for men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States who have criminal charges pending, that may relate to their military service. The Veterans Treatment Court involves intensive treatment and Court supervision for criminal offenders whose underlying problems involve to substance abuse or mental health issues.
The Mobile County Veterans Treatment Court Program was developed to help achieve total abstinence from drugs and/or alcohol, help overcome mental health issues, be diverted from prison/jail, and to have a more productive, healthy, law-abiding life.
The Veterans entire background and progress in the program will be closely reviewed and monitored by the Treatment team that includes a Circuit Court Judge, Assistant District Attorney, Public Defender, a Veterans Justice Outreach representative, Veterans Center Treatment representative, the Veterans Treatment Court Coordinator, case manager, and Veterans Treatment Court Mentors.
Some requirements for the Mobile County Veterans Treatment Court include but not limit to:
• 18 years of age or older
• Men or Women currently serving or who have previously served in the Armed Forces of the United States.
• Attend Court dockets, frequent drug testing, treatment sessions, and follow a treatment plan ordered by the Court.
• Follow all rules and Guidelines of The Mobile County Veterans Treatment Court.
